In a reaction on X, Pedro Sánchez, the President of Spain, praised this financial injection as a significant step that would quadruple Microsoft’s national initiatives. Mr. Sánchez highlighted how the agreement may support cybersecurity and AI applications in public administration, underscoring the significance of public-private collaborations in effectively managing the challenges of digital transformation.
AI and Cloud Investments in Germany and the UK
This initiative is a component of Microsoft‘s larger plan to strengthen its cloud computing and artificial intelligence ties in Europe. The company said last week that it intended to invest €3.2 billion in Germany to expand its AI and cloud infrastructure. This follows Microsoft’s historic three-year commitment of £2.5 billion to advance technical research and enhance its AI data center capabilities in the UK.
