Equinix Names Google Exec as CEO, Charles Meyers Shifts to Executive Chair

Equinix boothWith effect from late Q2 2024, Google Cloud Go-to-Market President Adaire Fox-Martin will take over as President and CEO of Equinix, replacing current President and CEO Charles Meyers. Equinix is a global provider of data center colocation and interconnection. Presently serving as Executive Chairman, Peter Van Camp will relinquish his official position as a Board member to assume the position of Special Advisor to the Board at the multinational supplier of data center colocation services.

Adaire Fox-Martin has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry. Most recently, she held the positions of Head of Google Ireland and President of Go-to-Market for Google Cloud. She oversaw the worldwide go-to-market teams for Google Cloud in this capacity, which included partner ecosystem, customer success, sales, and professional services.

Fox-Martin worked in senior worldwide roles at some of the top software and technology businesses in the world before joining Google, including SAP and Oracle. As a member of the SAP Executive Board, she oversaw sales and service for more than 440,000 clients worldwide, playing a crucial role in SAP. Her vast international leadership background includes roles as Head of Google Ireland, President of Google Cloud International, and President of SAP Asia Pacific and Japan. Since 2020, she has served as a member of the Equinix Board of Directors.

Stock Value Surged over $80 Billion

Charles Meyers began working for Equinix in 2010 and was named CEO in 2018. Throughout his tenure, he has molded the business’s winning approach, expanding Equinix’s Platform to over 70 markets in 33 countries, quickening the company’s lead in global connectivity, and advancing the platform to accommodate hybrid and multi-cloud as the obvious architecture of choice.

Equinix’s revenue has increased six times throughout this period, and its stock worth has increased by more than $80 billion. Mr. Meyers will stay in his position as CEO until the end of Q2, during which time he will continue to lead the company’s strategy and execution.
