OVHcloud Debuts New Paris Cloud Zone with Three Nearby Data Centers

Paris EiffeltowerOne of the world’s largest cloud hosting providers, OVHcloud, has made an announcement regarding the debut of its 3-AZ Region in Paris. The new cloud availability zone is designed to provide businesses with a presence in three data centers that are located reasonably close to one another.

OVHcloud is a global player and large cloud provider in Europe and the United States. It operates over 450,000 servers and has over 42 data centers located on four continents, while it serves over 1.6 million customers in over 140 countries.

“We will also be adding our public cloud products to this solution in the future, and we will also be introducing new three-AZ regions,” said Yaniv Fdida, Chief Product Officer of OVHcloud.

These three data centers in the Paris area aim to offer a combination of low latency and improved resilience. With this new cloud availability zone situated in the heart of France, OVHcloud anticipates to support new strategic deployment patterns for the most demanding workloads.

The new OVHcloud 3-AZ Paris Region takes advantage of a variety of power sources and a low-latency network by utilizing three separate data centers that are located at least 30 kilometers apart within the Paris area. With the ability to replicate data for near-instant failover or simply spread it for scale, organizations are provided with the greatest resilience to handle mission-critical applications on “state-of-the-art” bare-metal servers. These bare-metal servers would take advantage of OVHcloud’s custom water cooling technology, contributing to the best-in-class PUE/WUE indexes.

New Public Cloud Products

In a typical deployment scenario including three AZs, OVHcloud clients would roll out a minimum of three dedicated bare-metal servers, which can be obtained from the OVHcloud Scale and HGR ranges, in three data centers located in and around Paris.

Cloud infrastructure initiatives, such as replicated database architecture, large-scale virtualization infrastructure, and distributed storage solution, might benefit from the resilience that this solution provides.

“We are taking a significant step forward in our public cloud strategy with this launch,” said Yaniv Fdida, Chief Product Officer of OVHcloud. “This new product, which highlights our dedication to providing a robust infrastructure that enables our clients to construct highly available and resilient services and applications, is something that we are quite proud of. This is just the beginning of the Paris region. We will also be adding our public cloud products to this solution in the future, and we will also be introducing new three-AZ regions.”
