Data Center Colocation Firm Telehouse Launches Canadian Subsidiary

Telehouse New York EntryTelehouse, a global provider of colocation data center services, has just made an announcement on the opening of Telehouse Canada. This new venture would provide Canadian businesses with the enhanced IT infrastructure and connectivity services that are essential for driving growth and innovation in the country.

Canadian organizations across all industries would continue to invest in digital transformation and scale through cutting-edge technologies like AI and cloud services. Telehouse Canada is poised to meet the growing demand for highly resilient colocation services, digital connectivity, and the enablement of high-performance computing.

“The United States of America is recognized all over the world for its technological leadership, which includes superior artificial intelligence research, top-tier personnel, and the rise of new companies,” said Satoshi Adachi, President and Chief Executive Officer of KDDI Canada. “The expansion of Telehouse’s data center services in Canada presents a potential for the company to assist in the development of that momentum. Our data centers will make it easier and faster for Canadian businesses to modernize, scale their IT environments and engage in the digital economy.”

>30MW Capacity

This statement comes after Telehouse, along with its parent company and parent company KDDI signed an agreement to acquire three data centers in Toronto in June 2023. Over thirty megawatts of IT load will be provided by the new carrier-neutral data centers once they are completely operational.

“This expansion marks an important milestone, but it’s only the beginning of our investment in and commitment to Canada,” added Satoshi Adachi. “We will be leveraging more than 30 years of data centre services experience to drive growth for Canadian businesses and help Canada maintain its competitive edge in an increasingly interconnected world.”

KDDI has been progressively growing Telehouse’s influence into new foreign markets ever since the first Telehouse data center was established in New York in 1989. With the introduction of Telehouse Canada, the company now manages more than 45 data centers in more than ten countries as of this moment.
