DataVerge Enhances NYC Cloud Connectivity by Adding Megaport

DataVerge, the owner and operator of a major carrier-neutral colocation data center in Brooklyn, New York City, is now partnering with Network as a Service (NaaS) provider Megaport. Through DataVerge’s Brooklyn, NYC location, the cooperation will begin this month and offer local businesses Megaport-powered cloud connectivity services to Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

DataVerge customers will get access to Megaport’s global ecosystem, which consists of over 360 service providers and 850+ enabled data centers globally, including 290+ cloud on-ramps to the world’s top cloud providers. Amazon, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, and more are a few examples. Without having to worry about managing complicated network infrastructure, the expansion would allow businesses to easily and instantly connect to cloud and IT services globally.

“As one of the leading cloud markets in New York City, Brooklyn has been growing at a rapid rate over the past several years, and Megaport is excited to partner with DataVerge to launch our services there,” said Michael Reid, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Megaport. “With this alliance, we will be able to support Brooklyn-based businesses and provide our customers with new opportunities to grow alongside Megaport as we continue to broaden our global footprint. To satisfy the increasing demand for cloud-based services in Brooklyn, we’re excited to collaborate with DataVerge and our cloud partners.”

“The partnership will give our customers the agility, flexibility, and scalability they need to make their digital transformation initiatives a success,” said Ray Sidler, CEO at DataVerge.

Businesses in Brooklyn that are looking for a wide variety of cloud service providers and more direct access to cloud connectivity could benefit greatly from Megaport’s entry into DataVerge‘s expanding interconnection network.

To further propel their businesses, these clients will be assisted in implementing multicloud and hybrid cloud architectures. Companies with worldwide IT presences might also benefit from Megaport‘s on-demand access to public clouds and other services through its location in DataVerge’s Brooklyn facility.

Through the use of Megaport‘s proprietary Software Defined Network, IT backbone capacity can be provisioned in almost real-time between data centers, cloud regions, and service regions. This feature supports mission-critical application localization and accelerates the development of hybrid and multicloud scenarios worldwide.

“DataVerge is excited to offer our customers Megaport’s leading global NaaS platform, providing an easy way to connect their businesses to cloud services for hybrid cloud and multicloud environments inside our Brooklyn data center,” said Ray Sidler, CEO at DataVerge. “The partnership will give our customers the agility, flexibility, and scalability they need to make their digital transformation initiatives a success.”
