NetApp, a global data-centric software company, has appointed Haiyan Song as the new Executive Vice President and General Manager of its Cloud Operations (CloudOps) Business.

This strategic move highlights NetApp’s commitment to its rapidly growing and highly strategic business unit. Song, a cloud industry veteran, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, having previously served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Security and Distributed Cloud at F5.

In her position as Executive Vice President and General Manager of CloudOps, Song will play a crucial role as a key member of NetApp’s executive leadership team. She will report directly to NetApp CEO George Kurian and be responsible for leading the CloudOps business, delivering innovative solutions and services that empower organizations to leverage the cloud’s potential and drive business outcomes. Working closely with global customers, partners, and product teams, Song will contribute to extending NetApp’s leadership in hybrid, multi-cloud environments.

George Kurian, CEO of NetApp, expressed his enthusiasm for Haiyan Song joining the team, recognizing her relevant experience and profound understanding of the cloud, data, and security market. Kurian emphasized the value of Song’s expertise in helping NetApp’s customers navigate the complexities of their multi-cloud journeys.

Prior to her role at F5, Song held senior leadership positions at Splunk and HPE, as well as various engineering leadership roles at database management and e-commerce companies. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in implementing transformative initiatives that enhanced competitive positioning and revenue growth in strategic business areas. Song holds a master’s degree in computer science from Florida Atlantic University, and she has studied at Tsinhua University in China. Additionally, she completed the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Executive Program.
