Kyndryl and Honda Renew Partnership to Modernize IT Systems

Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), a global IT infrastructure services provider, has recently reaffirmed its partnership with Honda Motor Europe Ltd., announcing a renewed multiyear agreement to manage and modernize Honda’s IT infrastructure. This renewal builds on a longstanding collaboration between the two companies, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and advancing technological innovation within Honda’s European operations.

Under the terms of the renewed partnership, Kyndryl will not only manage Honda’s centralized IT infrastructure but will also modernize the automotive giant’s mainframe systems. This modernization will leverage Kyndryl Bridge, Kyndryl’s proprietary open integration platform, and incorporate advanced Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) to drive efficiency and agility.

Honda Motor Europe Ltd., a subsidiary of the global Honda Motor Co., is responsible for the sales, marketing, and distribution of Honda products across Europe, including automobiles, motorcycles, power equipment, and marine engines. The collaboration with Kyndryl is set to standardize critical business processes and future-proof Honda’s IT systems to thrive in an increasingly digital and data-driven business landscape.

Kyndryl’s updated strategy involves transitioning Honda’s essential applications to an upgraded z16 mainframe and infrastructure environment, promising enhanced security, scalability, and performance while optimizing operational costs. The use of Kyndryl Bridge is expected to provide Honda with real-time insights into IT operations and greater control over its essential applications.

Integration of AIOps

Liesbet D’hoker, Managing Director of Kyndryl Belux, expressed pride in the partnership, emphasizing the role of Kyndryl in enhancing Honda’s operational agility and resilience. “We are proud to collaborate with Honda, helping them to harness their data through more innovative applications of IT,” D’hoker stated.

Moreover, the integration of AIOps through Kyndryl Bridge marks a significant step in automating delivery processes, which is anticipated to enhance security, speed up operations, and reduce both incidents and costs. This comprehensive approach underlines Kyndryl‘s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that address complex business challenges and drive substantial growth.
