Eviden Unveils AI Server Family in Partnership with AMD, BullSequana AI 600

Eviden, a global business under the Atos Group known for its advanced computing solutions, has unveiled the BullSequana AI 600, a new mid-range AI server family. This latest offering, developed in collaboration with AMD, is aimed at businesses requiring robust 8-GPU servers to propel innovation and computation.

Specifically designed with the AMD Instinct MI300X accelerator platform, the BullSequana AI 600 promises to deliver exceptional compute capabilities while maintaining a balance between cost and performance, ensuring customers receive maximum value for their investment.

The BullSequana AI 600 product family is equipped to support enterprises and research organizations in achieving their objectives with greater energy efficiency. These AI systems are available in both an air-cooled version (AI600) and a variant equipped with Eviden’s Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) technology for optimal efficiency (AI600H). Eviden’s innovative AI architecture, designed to cool both CPU and GPU boards, boasts up to 80% heat retention through DLC. This advanced cooling solution maintains density within data centers, leading to significant cost savings and facilitating scalability for businesses.

The strategic alliance between Eviden and AMD is pivotal to the BullSequana AI 600’s performance-to-cost excellence. Utilizing AMD Instinct MI300X accelerators and the ROCm software suite, the BullSequana AI 600 provides a robust ecosystem for AI development, emphasizing openness, performance, and flexibility. Each BullSequana AI 600 server is equipped with two 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors and eight AMD Instinct MI300X accelerators interconnected via an Infinity Fabric network. Each MI300X GPU delivers 304 compute cores, 5.22 PFLOPS of theoretical peak performance (FP8), 2.61 PFLOPS (FP16), and 192 GB of HBM3 memory with a peak bandwidth of 5.3 TB/s.

Bruno Lecointe, Group VP Business HPC AI & Quantum at Eviden, part of the Atos Group, praised the collaboration with AMD as a powerful technology partnership, resulting in an exceptional performance-to-cost ratio. He stated that the BullSequana AI 600 continues Eviden’s commitment to providing customers with the expertise and high computing power necessary to stay at the forefront of AI innovation while achieving energy efficiency.

Andrew Dieckmann, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Data Center Accelerator Business at AMD, highlighted the importance of the collaboration with Eviden. He noted that the new BullSequana AI 600 platform, powered by AMD Instinct MI300X accelerators and the ROCm software suite, will help customers achieve the performance and energy efficiency needed to meet the rapid pace of innovation in the AI market.

HPC, Enterprise, and Edge Infrastructure, and Software

Eviden has an impressive presence in the TOP500, the official listing of the world’s most powerful supercomputers, with 50 systems, including two in the TOP10. Notably, the CEA-HE extension ranks 17th, with a sustained performance of 57.11 petaflops, based on Eviden’s BullSequana XH3000 next-gen hybrid architecture. The #1 spot in the Green500 is held by JEDI, the first module of the exascale supercomputer JUPITER, from Forschungszentrum Jülich and EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. Installed in April as a development instrument, JEDI prefigures the JUPITER exascale supercomputer currently under construction at FZJ.

The BullSequana AI product line offers a comprehensive range of HPC, enterprise, and edge infrastructure, software, and services. It would deliver the performance, efficiency, and responsiveness critical to powering the next generation of AI, from the data center and cloud to the edge. The new end-to-end offering includes five server families optimized for AI workloads, supported by specialized AI software. These families are BullSequana AI 1200H, BullSequana AI 800, BullSequana AI 600 and AI 600H, BullSequana AI 200, and BullSequana AI 100. This offering would be ideally suited for data-critical applications in national centers, life sciences and health, earth scientific research, finance and insurance, retail, the public sector, manufacturing, and data centers. Furthermore, this offering complies with the EU AI Act, ensuring the highest level of ethics and confidentiality in the development of Eviden’s AI solutions.

With the introduction of the BullSequana AI 600, Eviden continues to push the boundaries of data center efficiency and performance, providing B2B clients with scalable, robust solutions to meet the demands of modern AI and HPC applications.
