OVHcloud Launches Its First Local Zone in Africa at GITEX AFRICA

OVHcloud has unveiled its first Local Zone in Africa, located in Rabat, Morocco. The announcement was mae during the GITEX AFRICA event. This launch underscores OVHcloud‘s commitment to providing secure cloud solutions in Africa, bringing data closer to users. With over 6,000 customers in Morocco, OVHcloud is enhancing its local presence.

The announcement included a partnership with Maroc Datacenter, which will help tailor cloud offerings to the Moroccan market. Abderrahmane Mounir, Chairman of Maroc Datacenter, highlighted the partnership’s role in strengthening Morocco’s digital ecosystem by ensuring data sovereignty and low latency for cloud services.

Caroline Comet-Fraigneau, OVHcloud Vice-President for France, Benelux, Africa, and the Middle East, emphasized the milestone’s significance in OVHcloud’s African expansion. Future Local Zone deployments are planned for South Africa, Kenya, and Tunisia by 2025, contributing to OVHcloud‘s goal of establishing up to 150 Local Zones worldwide by 2026.
