Cologix Expands in Iowa with Two Data Center Acquisitions

Cologix, a prominent player in the network-neutral interconnection and hyperscale edge data center sector in North America, has broadened its U.S. operational scope with the strategic acquisition of two data centers in Iowa. This expansion would not only mark Cologix’s inaugural venture into the Des Moines market but also signify a strengthened commitment to enhancing colocation and interconnection services in the region.

The acquired facilities, identified as DSM1 and DSM2, are now integral to Cologix’s North American colocation data center portfolio. Financial terms of the two acquisitions were not disclosed.

DSM1, located in the Financial Center building in downtown Des Moines, boasts 4,000 square feet of space and 600kW of power. It is notably positioned in a carrier hotel, providing direct access to 26 unique networks and the DesMoinesIX Internet Exchange, with potential expansion to an additional 10,000 square feet and 1.0 MW of power.
