Gcore, a global leader in CDN, edge AI, cloud, network, and security solutions, has announced the general availability of FastEdge, its advanced serverless edge computing solution. FastEdge is designed to deliver high-performance, low-latency application execution at the edge, and now comes equipped with a user-friendly graphical interface (GUI) and flexible pricing plans, including Free, Pro, and Enterprise options.
“FastEdge has been designed to elevate the edge computing experience for developers,” said Dmitry Samoshkin, Chief Product Officer at Gcore.The transition from beta to general availability marks a significant enhancement of FastEdge’s capabilities. Leveraging Gcore’s extensive CDN infrastructure, FastEdge allows applications to be compiled to WebAssembly, facilitating rapid and efficient deployment without the need for server configuration or ongoing infrastructure maintenance.
This capability would particularly be beneficial for developers, enabling them to perform a variety of tasks such as request modification, frontend serving, user authentication, flexible image optimization, and custom DNS resolving. These tasks can be managed across Gcore’s 180 edge Points of Presence (PoPs) globally.
The new user-friendly GUI, developed during the beta phase, would enhance the developer experience by providing a simple and accessible interface through the Gcore Customer Portal. This front end allows users to utilize pre-configured application templates, track application statistics, and modify deployments as their requirements evolve. This optimization would ensure that developers can manage their applications more efficiently and with greater ease.

One of the standout features of FastEdge would be its ability to launch applications at lightning-fast speeds, thanks to its isolated sandbox environment. This environment not only enhances security by protecting against malware but also ensures a consistent, high-performance experience for users.

For businesses with high-volume usage, the Enterprise Plan would offer a bespoke service, allowing companies to customize the solution to meet their specific requirements.
