Carahsoft Launches CarahCloud Marketplace with New AWS APIs

Carahsoft, an established IT solutions provider specializing in supporting public sector entities such as government agencies and healthcare and educational institutions, has unveiled the CarahCloud Marketplace. This new digital platform is engineered to cater to the increasing demand for third-party software products and solutions within the AWS Marketplace, specifically targeting the public sector.

The launch of CarahCloud Marketplace is notable for its integration of new application programming interfaces (APIs) provided by AWS Marketplace. These APIs are designed to allow independent software vendors (ISVs) and AWS Partners to create workflow integrations for their Amazon Machine Image (AMI), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Container products directly within the AWS ecosystem.

Craig P. Abod, President of Carahsoft, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, highlighting the strategic alliance with AWS and various reseller partners aimed at enhancing cloud transformation for public sector customers. “CarahCloud Marketplace streamlines the acquisition process for cloud-based products available in AWS Marketplace, offering flexible payment terms and a unified purchasing avenue through preferred Marketplace channel partners.”

AWS Public Sector (PSP) Program

This initiative places Carahsoft among the early adopters in the AWS Public Sector (PSP) Program to utilize the capabilities of the newly released AWS Marketplace APIs. These APIs allow AWS Partners and customers to establish, manage, and promote their own AWS Marketplace branded storefronts directly from their websites.

Tina Chiao, Director of Carahsoft’s AWS Business Unit, also commented on the development, stating, “The AWS Marketplace APIs provide a comprehensive storefront experience, enabling our reseller partners and their customers to efficiently procure third-party software products.” Chiao noted that these APIs significantly reduce the time required for Carahsoft and its ISV partners to expand their Marketplace offerings tailored to the public sector, from months to mere days.

This advancement is expected to transform the marketplace experience for public sector customers, streamlining their ability to access and deploy cloud solutions.
