Colt and OVHcloud Partner to Expand Cloud Services in 140 Countries

Colt Technology Services has announced a major partnership with OVHcloud aimed at expanding the availability of public and private cloud services to businesses in more than 140 countries. This partnership leverages Colt’s Dedicated Cloud Access connectivity, which provides secured and flexible cloud solutions combined with OVHcloud’s data protection and comprehensive cloud offerings.

OVHcloud, one of the world’s largest cloud services providers and a leading cloud provider in Europe, has more than 450,000 servers under management in 43 data centers while serving 1.6 million customers on four continents.

Colt’s partnership with OVHcloud provides direct connectivity to OVHcloud’s cloud services through eight Points of Presence (PoPs) in Europe and one in Singapore. This infrastructure allows businesses to access OVHcloud from Colt’s extensive network, which includes more than 32,000 connected buildings and 1,200 data centers worldwide. Colt’s cloud connectivity options, including SD WAN, Ethernet, Wave, IPVPN and the innovative On Demand network-as-a-service (NaaS), would ensure businesses have secured and dedicated connectivity with optimal latency and full bandwidth guarantees.

Data Sovereignty and Security

The timing of this announcement matches the continued growth in the cloud market, where 94% of enterprises worldwide now use cloud services. According to recent research, security remains a top priority for IT investments, as indicated by 40% of more than 1,000 respondents in Colt‘s most recent IT Priorities survey.

“We are excited to partner with Colt to bring OVHcloud services and solutions to even more customers around the world,” said Yaniv Fdida, Chief Product and Technology Officer at OVHcloud.

Peter Coppens, VP of Infrastructure and Connectivity Solutions at Colt, emphasized the importance of data sovereignty and security for IT leaders overseeing a cloud migration. “Data sovereignty and security are top of mind for IT leaders who need to accelerate cloud migration. They need to know that their data is foolproof, not only in the cloud itself, but also when transitioning to and from the cloud. Our partnership with OVHcloud gives businesses the peace of mind that comes from working with two organizations that meet the most robust data protection standards and have a deep understanding of European and global data sovereignty issues, backed by global scale and a shared commitment to delivering the best customer experience.”

Both Colt and OVHcloud are committed to sustainability. Colt focuses on sustainable infrastructure throughout the value chain, aiming to reduce scope 3 emissions, use renewable energy sources, integrate recycled hardware components and promote circular economy principles through end-of-life processes.

For more than 20 years, OVHcloud has used an integrated model that ensures complete control over the value chain, from server design with a customized water cooling system to data center construction and management. This model would allow customers to benefit from an environmentally conscious approach characterized by resource efficiency and industry-leading carbon footprint ratios.

Reducing Environmental Impact

Colt‘s most recent sustainability report highlights ongoing efforts and achievements to reduce its environmental impact, while OVHcloud continues to demonstrate how an integrated approach to cloud infrastructure can result in significant environmental benefits. The collaboration between Colt and OVHcloud not only provides enhanced cloud services and connectivity, but also underscores a shared commitment to sustainability and data security that meets the changing needs of businesses in a rapidly digitizing world.

These two companies’ strengths in the global cloud market will be strengthened by working together to give businesses more secure, efficient, and sustainable cloud options.
