Alice & Bob to Boost Future Data Centers with Cat Qubits and NVIDIA Tech

Alice & Bob - data center rackBy incorporating cat qubits into future data centers, Alice & Bob, a top QPU designer and producer of quantum hardware, hopes to hasten the adoption of quantum technology in business environments. Alice & Bob incorporates NVIDIA DGX Quantum, which combines the OPX+ control mechanism of the Quantum Machines with NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips. At maximum efficiency, DGX Quantum performs hybrid algorithms, quantum error correction, calibration, and control.

“The integration of NVIDIA’s technology and expertise in application-specific, high-performance computational tasks in the data center is set to help us in our journey towards making quantum useful for businesses,” said Théau Peronnin, Alice & Bob’s CEO and co-founder.

The ground-breaking quantum bit that Alice and Bob invented, known as a cat qubit, is what makes it possible to construct a fault-tolerant quantum computer. Its incorporation would contribute to the ecosystem’s adoption of cat qubit-based quantum computers.

To allow real-time decoding of complicated error correction codes, like qLDPC, which are the foundation of Alice & Bob’s future, Alice & Bob are also using NVIDIA CUDA Quantum, an open-source platform for integrating and programming quantum processing units (QPUs), GPUs, and CPUs in one system. This would contribute to advancing the state-of-the-art towards cat qubit-based fault-tolerant quantum computing.

“NVIDIA has a long experience of integrating a wide range of high-performance computing workloads that are application-specific into datacenters. They are the perfect ally on our journey to enabling companies to benefit from quantum,” said Théau Peronnin, Alice & Bob’s CEO and co-founder. “The integration of NVIDIA’s technology and expertise in application-specific, high-performance computational tasks in the data center is set to help us in our journey towards making quantum useful for businesses. This gives our integration in the launch of NVIDIA Quantum Cloud its deeper meaning.”

Quantum Research Community

At www.dynamiqs.org, Alice & Bob and others have created an open-source, high-performance quantum systems simulation library called DYNAMIQS. GPUs are behind its acceleration. Through their efforts, Alice & Bob want to improve accuracy and speed up the simulation of cat qubits “by up to 60 times.” By doing this, the quantum research community’s desire for this promising technology would grow and knowledge of cat qubits would become more inclusive.

“The integration of Alice and Bob’s technology with NVIDIA DGX Quantum is set to help open the door to real-time error correction,” said Tim Costa, director of HPC and quantum at NVIDIA. “It’s an essential step on the road to useful quantum computing.”

The goal of Alice & Bob, a quantum computing company from France, is to hasten the effective use of quantum technologies in business. Because of their unique passive error correction, cat qubits are already regarded as one of the most promising platforms for fault-tolerant quantum computing, according to Alice & Bob.
